The Friesian Gastro Pub After sitting vacant for a few years, we renovated the former “Lord’s Chapel” building just down the hill from Michigan Street’s Medical Mile corridor into The Friesian Gastro Pub. In addition to having a full bar, we serve up comfort food with an eclectic twist.
The Friesian accommodates seating for over 80 people inside (including our unique centrally-located bar), and when the weather warms up we will open our 20-person back patio and 50-person rooftop deck – a first for Michigan Street!
The Friesian is co-owned and operated by local restaurant industry veteran Craig Jones, along with co-owners Zan Lamkin and Phil Rienstra. All three owners live in Grand Rapids and are excited to bring a gastro pub with a fun atmosphere and great menu to the Midtown Neighborhood.
We intend to change the menu regularly with some globally-inspired selections, but not stray too far from what you’d expect in a neighborhood gastro pub.
